JOB PURPOSE

This position sits in our Marketing & Technology service based in London. We combine data, technology, creative content, and paid media to crack brands’ business problems & drive revenue through a variety of digital marketing solutions like ad campaigns, augmented reality, and chatbots. Our clients include ASOS, Just Eat Takeaway, Twitch, TikTok, and The White Company.

As a Junior Creative Motion Designer, you are a rising talent with a hunger to learn and a passion for visual storytelling. You will support the team in bringing ideas to life through movement, helping to shape concepts from the initial storyboard to the final render. You have a keen eye for detail, a solid grasp of animation principles, and a desire to develop your art direction skills within a fast-paced, world-class agency.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Support Visual & Motion Direction: Help shape the trajectory of projects from initial concept to final delivery, ensuring motion is a core part of the creative solution.

• Master Visual Storytelling: Develop creative ideas rooted in narrative, pacing, and structure, learning how to tell a brand’s story through movement.

• Design & Animate: Create high-quality motion assets across various campaigns and formats, maintaining a high standard of craft.

• Uphold Brand Standards: Learn to define and protect look-and-feels, styleframes, and motion languages, ensuring all work remains consistent with brand identities.

• Develop Art Direction Thinking: Work alongside seniors to translate static concepts into dynamic motion systems that align with the overarching creative intent.

• Collaborate & Execute: Partner closely with designers and creatives, ensuring your motion execution stays true to the project's original vision.

• Stay Curious: Keep your finger on the pulse of motion trends, new tools, and emerging AI techniques to keep DEPT® at the forefront of the industry.

WHAT YOU BRING:

• Emerging Art Direction Mindset: A strong sense of visual judgment and the confidence to contribute ideas that help craft a project’s visual story.

• Motion Design Foundation: Solid skills in animation with an innate understanding of timing, framing, and how to evoke emotion through movement.

• Brand Awareness: An interest in acting as a brand guardian, with the ability to adapt your style to suit different visual systems and brand guidelines.

• Narrative Craft: Experience (or a high potential) in creating styleframes and visual systems that support narrative-driven motion.

• Technical Spark: Proficiency in the core motion toolkit, with drawing skills or frame-by-frame animation experience considered a significant plus.

• Future-Facing: A genuine curiosity around AI tools and an interest in how they can support and evolve the creative process.

• A Compelling Showreel: A portfolio that demonstrates your potential in concepting, craft, and high-quality motion storytelling.
