The impact of the role:

The Cost Planning Specialist will be responsible for strengthening the BPO Cost Planning Team by focusing on connected hardware, software, back-end systems, and services. This role requires close collaboration with local and global Product and Development teams to ensure the achievement of financial targets for our client in the automotive industry.

On a given day, a Cost Specialist will:

• Support the BPO Manager in defining project cost planning assumptions, including volume, mix scenarios, service grade strategy by carline, and distribution of allowances between hardware and services.
• Manage and consolidate cost estimations for hardware, software, cloud architecture, and services from European and global teams, supporting the development of business cases and approval of cost and profit targets throughout project milestones.
• Identify and clarify profit gaps between budget and cost estimations and create achievement scenarios for each cost planning milestone through cost reduction and product/service content prioritization with global teams.
• Conduct cost follow-up activities during the development phase and final price studies prior to Start of Production, including gathering quotations from external suppliers and strategic partners, reconfirming volumes, mixes, and pricing, and re-evaluating the business case against original targets.
• Support Mid-Term Business Plan and Budget Forecast activities while collaborating with Pricing and Indirect Purchasing teams to ensure accurate reflection of Value Manager inputs in price schedules, B2B pricing, and effective cost control for Connected Services.

Requirements:
In order to be successful in this role you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration or Engineering
• Professional experience in Cost Planning and Business Cases validations with a focus on digital products.
• You demonstrate capabilities in negotiating and reaching consensus.
• You showcase strong communication and excellent planning skills
• Result driven and able to break down complex tasks into manageable portions
• Creative, rigorous, challenging and persevering
• Strong computer literate (MS Excel, and Power BI tools)
• You are fluent in English.
• Availability for occasional travel to Belgium.
