Junior CAD Technician for Offshore Wind Foundations; Secondary Structures

Due to the success and growth of the company, we are searching for an ambitious and capable Junior CAD Technician to join our CAD team in the Secondary Structures department.
We have several large detailed design projects in offshore wind, as well as a continuous stream of concept and FEED studies, plus design work on several innovative concepts (outside of the currently accepted foundation concepts for offshore wind), including floating structures.
Areas of responsibility: As one of our CAD technicians for Secondary Structures, your main objective will be to support and provide high-quality CAD deliveries to our clients for Secondary Structures design of wind turbine foundations on projects in the offshore wind industry. In the role you will support the production of drawings and models by:
Building and compiling complex 3D models using Autodesk Inventor
Transform conceptual ideas into 3D models and 2D drawings in collaboration with design engineers
Support the project organisation and client with 3D visualisations and drawings
Ensure the quality of final drawings before they are sent to the client
Whilst your focus will be supporting the CAD team for the Secondary Structures, we believe that you’ll work best, and will stay engaged if you get involved in multiple areas of our projects.
This is an opportunity for someone looking to develop and progress through continuous professional development and training within the company, with the aim of progressing into more senior CAD position.
The opening applies to our Bristol office in the UK. You should expect some travelling in Northern Europe in relation to your work.
Your background: You will have a background as a CAD technician, or education within the field.
You will have a strong drive and take initiative and responsibility for your assignments and get motivated by creating excellent CAD documentation through teamwork. It is essential that you possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise colleagues and other consultants effectively. Furthermore, it is advantageous if you have:
At least 2 years of relevant employment experience as a CAD technician
Experience with Autodesk Inventor, and preferred but not essential, Autodesk Vault
Demonstrated experience with producing engineering drawings and complex 3D models
Attention to detail and comfortable with the full Microsoft suit
