Position Overview
Zedcor will be hiring a Junior Buyer to assists in procurement by researching suppliers, negotiating prices, and managing purchase orders to ensure cost-efficient acquisition of goods. Reporting to senior management, they monitor inventory levels, analyze market trends, and maintain vendor relationships. Key skills include proficiency in procurement software, strong organizational abilities, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and procure materials including fabricated parts, electrical components, and related assemblies.
Review production schedules and forecasts to determine material requirements.
Create and manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and expedite as needed.
Monitor inventory to balance availability with cost efficiency.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost control, and on-time delivery.
Identify and evaluate new suppliers; negotiate terms to support production goals.
Resolve supplier-related issues such as delays, shortages, or quality concerns.
Partner with production supervisors and leads to understand material usage and schedule changes.
Support engineering changes and new product launches through timely sourcing.
Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure accurate receiving, inventory control, and material flow.
Maintain accurate data within ERP/MRP or inventory management systems.
Track and report on purchasing metrics such as on-time delivery, purchase price variance, and inventory turnover.
Provide reporting to support strategic procurement and planning decisions.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2–5 years of experience in a Buyer/Planner role within manufacturing.
Familiarity with sourcing industrial, mechanical, or electrical components.
Strong organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
