UAP, a leading Canadian distributor and marketer of parts and accessories for automobiles and heavy vehicles, is currently seeking an intern for its mergers and acquisitions team as well as business analysis. In this role, you will contribute to the success of UAP's business opportunities by producing financial analyses based on the economic viability of business plans related to corporate and associated stores, as well as company acquisitions. Are you known for the quality and accuracy of your analyses, your ability to synthesize information, and your good management of priorities? Your responsibilities will include:
• Participating in the acquisition process
• Updating financial models
• Assisting in preparing presentations and materials for internal stakeholders
• Support in preparing legal and transactional documents
• Obtaining necessary documentation for transactions, reviewing accuracy, and ensuring follow-up
• Preparing reports needed for different projects using BI tools
• Help with performing financial forecasts, analysis, and documentation review of business plans
• Assisting in organizing the logistics of fund exchanges
• Ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting in the pipeline
• Assisting in collection of information for Due diligence team
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
• 0-1 years of internship or work experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, and/or corporate development
• CFA, CPA and/or CBV designation completed or in progress, an asset
• Knowledge of the M&A processes, including pre-LOI analysis, deal structuring, deal negotiation, due diligence
• Strong understanding of financial concepts such as profitability, financing, net present value, and business valuation principles
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Excellent communication in both English and French, both orally and in writing. In your role, you will have to work with internal clients across Canada on an ongoing basis.
