Job Summary
JVD Installations Inc. is currently seeking Journeyperson Pipefitters for our maintenance team in Norman Wells, NWT. The successful candidates will be responsible for pipe fabrication and installation of pipe spools, Blinding / De-blinding, Valves and piping replacement, knowledge in basic pipe spool isometric drawings, Bunker riser installation and removal. Norman Well is a unique location where each trade is required to support and/or assist other trades, such as aiding scaffolder, insulator, Pipeline integrity activities, Ice Road construction during winter season, Marine related activities during summer season and at times labouring task in combination of your own trade.
Responsibilities
• Read and interpret COP Job Scope Work Sheet and P&ID.
• Work with other trades to complete job scopes.
• Demonstrates knowledge of piping demolition.
• Assembles and installs piping sections according to blueprints and job specifications.
• Performs physically demanding tasks such as cutting openings for pipe while standing for extended periods of time and securing pipe in hard-to-reach areas.
• Perform bolt-up and Bolt Torquing.
• Perform rigging tasks, including identifying appropriate lift points.
• Pipeline pigging for cleaning and purging purposes.
• U/G Bunker entry for the removal of pipeline risers and wellhead piping.
• May perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
• Experience operating a Telehandler and skid steer not necessary but preferred.
• Experience with pipeline Pigging, Inline Inspection knowledge is preferred.
• Committed to working in a safe and efficient manner.
• Excellent problem-solving skills required.
• Good analytical ability and manual dexterity.
• Successful candidates are required to have a valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding work for a long duration of time.
• Must be able to perform duties at heights.
• Must be able to work well with others, and willing to assist other trades as required.
• Must be able to participate in safety meeting and toolbox discussions.
• Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Must be able to complete all pre-access training as identified prior to mobilization.
• Must be able to successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
Trade Certification Requirements
• Pipefitter Journeyperson and/or Pipefitter apprentice certificate from a recognized provincial training authority
• Confined Space Entry and Rescue
• H2s Awareness
• Standard First Aid
• Detection & Control of Flammable Substances
• Fall Protection
• Ground Disturbance Level II (Optional)
• Skid steer / Telehandler Training (Preferred)
• Aerial Work Platform Training (Preferred)
Position Information
• Located in Norman Wells, NWT
• Charter Flights provided from Edmonton.
• Accommodation provided at the Mackenzie Mountain Inn Camp.
• Day Shift Position
• 11.5 hours of work per day
• 15/13 Rotation Schedule
• $250 Travel Rotational Allowance (Per Completed Rotation)
• Base $51.02 / Blended $59.04
