Job Summary
The Journeyman Electrician supports the installation of electrical and underground utilities, including airfield electrical lighting, distribution systems, and street lighting. Work is performed outdoors in various environments throughout the Edmonton area. The Journeyman reports to the Foreman and provides guidance and supervision to the Apprentice.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to work 5–6 days a week, 8–10 hours per day in outdoor environments.
Perform aerial work using bucket trucks to install or replace lighting towers, flood lights, and ballasts.
Install lighting and distribution equipment, including vaults, pull-pits, cabling, and lighting towers.
Perform trenching and installation of conduit for underground utilities.
Build and install temporary power panels and various types of electrical cabinets.
Install electrical equipment on structures and assist with concrete pour-in-place foundations for street lighting.
Assist with or perform termination of panels for street lighting.
Troubleshoot and isolate circuits and cables, including testing of both AC and DC 5KV systems.
Maintain communication with stakeholders and complete required documentation.
Ensure safe and efficient completion of project deliverables.
Perform all work in accordance with applicable Task Hazard Assessments (THAs), safe work practices, and Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs).
Identify hazards and participate in hazard assessments and control implementation.
Perform assigned tasks as identified in formal hazard assessments.
Perform other related duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Class 5 driver’s license required and reliable transportation.
Must be a Certified Journeyman/Journeywomen or Indentured Electrical Apprentice - 2nd or 3rd year
Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
Be able to stand, kneel, crouch, bend and walk.
Willing to work outdoors.
Experience operating equipment is required
Experience with aerial work is an asset.
