Job Title: Working Student (m/f/d) - Data Engineer (Robotics and AI)

About the role:
We are currently seeking a motivated and talented Student Data Engineer and Software Tool Developer to join our dynamic team. This position offers a unique opportunity for a working student to gain hands-on experience in data collection, analysis, software tool development, and maintenance within the exciting field of robotics and AI research.

The candidate will contribute to the design and development of software tools and automated intelligent data processing to collect, manage, validate, and visualize data. These tools will support improving data quality and accessibility and enable the creation of interactive dashboards and reports.

The candidate will be responsible for tasks such as conducting online research, creating KPIs, ensuring data quality and integrity, developing data collection and processing tools, and generating dashboards and reports.

Proficiency in office tools, data analysis software, and programming languages such as Python and JavaScript is preferred. Familiarity with databases, visualization tools, and publication management tools like JabRef is also advantageous.

Your Responsibilities:
Development and Maintenance of an Internal Data Platform

• Design, implement, and maintain an internal software application for data collection, processing, validation, storage, and visualization.

• Develop and maintain components for automated data acquisition from sources such as websites and APIs.

• Implement backend services and data pipelines to ensure reliable data processing and integration.

• Contribute to frontend components and user interfaces for accessing, managing, and interacting with the data.

Data Processing, Quality, and Automation

• Implement automated and AI-based data validation, cleaning, and quality assurance within the application.

• Ensure reliable operation, consistency, and usability of data throughout the system.

Visualization and User Interface Features

• Develop and maintain integrated dashboards and visualization features within the application.

• Improve usability and functionality to support efficient data access and exploration.

• Support the continuous enhancement of the overall application.

Essential Skills:
• Currently enrolled as a student in Robotics, Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.

• Strong interest in robotics, artificial intelligence, and data-driven technologies.

• Ability to read and understand scientific publications and research papers.

• Good knowledge of Python and web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Experience with software development tools such as Git and Docker

• Basic knowledge of databases (SQL) is advantageous.

• Interest in software development, automation, and dashboards.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• High attention to detail and data quality.

• Structured and independent working style.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Beneficial Skills:
• Experience with APIs, web scraping, or automation.

• Familiarity with publication management tools (e.g., JabRef).

• Experience with Software tools like Git, Docker
