Quick Summary

The CEO of Jasper County REMC is responsible for overseeing the overall strategy and direction of the organization, ensuring the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to its members while meeting the collective energy needs of the community.

Job Description

Jasper County Rural Electric Membership Corporation (REMC) is a not-for-profit electric distribution cooperative headquartered in Rensselaer, Indiana. We proudly serve more than 8,500 consumers and 9,600 meters across 1,227 miles of line throughout Jasper County and parts of White, Starke, Pulaski, Porter, and Newton counties in northwest Indiana.

As a member-owned cooperative, Jasper County REMC is governed by a board of directors elected by—and from—the membership we serve. Our mission is simple and meaningful: to provide safe, reliable electric service while meeting the collective energy needs of our members. We are committed to service excellence, member satisfaction, and being a responsible, engaged partner in the communities we serve.

Jasper County itself is a true hidden gem. Known for its natural beauty, welcoming small towns, and strong sense of community, the area offers an exceptional quality of life. Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy easy access to the Kankakee and Iroquois Rivers, the Jasper-Pulaski State Wildlife Area, and Prairie Border Nature Preserve—perfect for fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, and birdwatching. Residents also enjoy local shops, restaurants, breweries, wineries, and art-infused small-town charm.

The county combines the best of both worlds: peaceful rural living with convenient proximity to larger cities like Chicago and Lafayette, offering access to cultural attractions, professional sports, museums, and universities. Jasper County also features a strong network of healthcare providers, quality park systems, and family-friendly amenities, making it an excellent place to live, work, and grow.

At Jasper County REMC, we’re proud of the role we play in powering homes, businesses, and communities—and of the people who make our cooperative strong.

As the Chief Executive Officer of Jasper County REMC, this strong, people-centered and business-savvy leader reports directly to the Board of Directors and drives the success of the cooperative across all areas of operation. The CEO provides confident, decisive leadership over Finance, Electrical Operations, Broadband Services, Customer Experience, and Office Management—ensuring seamless day-to-day operations while maintaining a clear focus on long-term strategy and organizational health.

This role leads the creation and execution of the annual budget, making sound, well-informed decisions that align operational priorities with the Board’s strategic goals. Through clear, consistent, and transparent communication, the CEO keeps the Board fully informed on financial performance, customer engagement, operational risks, and progress toward strategic initiatives.

A strong leader of people, the CEO builds trust, accountability, and engagement across the organization. They foster a positive and high-performing culture by investing in employee development, setting clear expectations, and leading with integrity. Safety is not just a priority—it is a shared responsibility and a mindset reinforced through leadership actions and decisions.

Externally, the CEO serves as a confident, credible, and respected representative of Jasper County REMC at Indiana Electric Cooperatives (IEC), Wabash Valley Power Alliance (WVPA), and throughout the local community. This leader builds strong relationships, communicates effectively with diverse stakeholders, champions innovation, and represents the cooperative with professionalism and purpose.

The CEO will be responsible for demonstrating the following:
