Job Description

OptiSigns is a global leader in the digital signage and digital experience space, offering cutting-edge SaaS solutions that enable businesses to create seamless online and offline experiences. Our platform integrates AI, IoT, no-code, and low-code solutions, empowering 35,000+ customers worldwide to leverage dynamic digital signage. With our client base already strong in the Japan, we are seeking a highly motivated Business Leader to lead our efforts in Japan.

If you are an entrepreneurial business leader ready to take a proven tech product to new heights in Japan, this opportunity is for you. You will act as the primary sales driver and market builder, owning revenue while also shaping strategy, partnerships, and early operations in Japan. This is a multifaceted role that combines regulatory compliance, go-to-market strategy, sales leadership, and team building.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and drive all revenue in Japan
• Lead enterprise SaaS sales and close deals directly
• Build pipeline through outbound efforts, inbound leads, and partners
• Develop partnerships with system integrators, resellers, and distributors
• Work closely with presales/technical support to win deals
• Adapt our software and hardware offering to the Japanese market
• Help define go-to-market strategy and pricing
• Represent OptiSigns in the market and support marketing efforts
• Share customer feedback with global teams


Requirements:
Ideal Candidate Traits

• Entrepreneurial Spirit: You’re a self-starter who thrives on taking ownership of business challenges and driving meaningful impact.
• Strong Business Acumen: Familiarity with Japan regulatory frameworks, particularly in SaaS, VAT, Privacy, and eCommerce.
• Market Expertise: Deep understanding of the Japan market, including key cultural, regulatory, and commercial differences that will shape our market entry and growth.
• Strategic Thinker: You have experience developing go-to-market strategies and providing tactical advice on sales, marketing, and localization.
• Team Builder: You’re passionate about growing a team from the ground up and leading by example to drive success.
• Excellent Communicator: Ability to communicate complex technical and regulatory concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Skills & Experience

• Over 10 years of experience in the SaaS or technology sectors.
• Extensive experience in enterprise SaaS sales, consistently meeting or exceeding quota targets.

• Established success in leadership positions, preferably within the SaaS or technology fields.
• Knowledgeable about Japanese regulations, including compliance with personal data protection laws and the sale of physical electronic goods.
• Experience overseeing eCommerce operations, particularly on platforms such as Amazon.
• Proven capability to create and implement go-to-market strategies specifically designed for the Japanese market.
• Strong leadership abilities with a demonstrated history of building and expanding teams.
• Fluent in both Japanese and English languages.

Travel Requirements

• Initial Training: onboarding and training will take place in Houston, TX.

• Ongoing: occasional travel to the US for leadership meetings, along with regular travel within Japan to attend trade shows and industry events.
