IT Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT Technician for our Brasov office. Your primary focus will be on providing outstanding customer service to Canam employees. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance to our colleagues in their functions, ensuring they can operate smoothly. 

We are looking for someone who believes that helping others is the most rewarding part of the job.

You will also grow your skills with Google, Microsoft, Cisco, HP, Apple, and other emerging technologies since you will participate and contribute to the success of various IT projects.

 

Key Responsibilities 

• Provide outstanding customer service to employees;

• Serve as primary point of contact for users regarding overall support requests;

• Receive, analyze, and process requests from our users;

• Handle setups, configuration, installation, maintenance, and repairs on end users equipment;

• Manage IT asset inventory and lifecycle;

• Determine user IT/technical needs, procure equipment, and carry out its installation. 

• Conduct research to respond to users by phone, email, and instant messaging;

• Communicate effectively with clients before, during, and after the process;

• Enter information using the tools and systems in use.

• Perform, when necessary, all other tasks related to his service and for which he has the expertise and knowledge needed.
• Occasionally participate in the development and improvement of processes and procedures.

 

• A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or a combination of education and equivalent practical experience. 
• 5 years and more in an IT technician role.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Knowledge of ITIL methodology.
• Knowledge of Agile or Lean methodology.
• Practical knowledge of IT.

Could be an asset:

• Knowledge of the manufacturing environment.
• Comfortable using IT and technology tools (such as GSuite, MS Office, Jira Service Management).
• French speaking

May be required to occasionally travel to different Canam Group sites to provide a service, participate in the deployment of equipment or IT solutions, install and/or configure IT equipment or for any other needs determined by the IT department.

About us

Canam Group Romania began in Brasov as a small detailing office in 1998 which afterwards became a major company on the Brasov market, with its own building and more than 400 employees. In 2024, we expanded our presence in Romania by opening a second office in Cluj-Napoca. 

The Romanian offices are part of Canam Group, a global company employing 5,100 people across five countries: Canada, United States, Romania, India and the Philippines.

Our team in Brasov provides 3D modelling, detailing and estimation services for constructions such as buildings, steel structures and bridges. We work for our plants and offices in Canada and the Unites States and for other North American steel fabricators. 

We also have our own IT team developing software for internal use.
