About the role
We are looking for a driven and technically skilled IT Technical Sales Specialist to join ARO and play a key role in accelerating our IT sales growth. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines strong commercial awareness with hands-on IT expertise and enjoys building trusted customer relationships. Working closely with our Corporate SMB Account Management teams and out IT Technical resources, you will design and propose tailored technology solutions across managed IT services, WAN/LAN and Wi-Fi infrastructure, cloud migration, platform refreshes, hardware deployments, Microsoft rollouts, and cybersecurity. Acting as the bridge between technical delivery and client needs, you will help identify opportunities, shape solutions, support account growth, and close high-value deals that drive ARO’s continued success. This hybrid technical and sales-focused role also involves upskilling account managers, developing new business opportunities, and overseeing opportunities through the full sales lifecycle from discovery to delivery.
Please note that this is a Hybrid role with onsite requirement in the office and travel to customer sites. You must be able to commute to the office and have your own transport.
What you’ll do
• Engage with clients to assess IT needs and recommend solutions like managed services, cloud migration, or cybersecurity.
• Develop and present compelling technical proposals and high/low-level designs, including costings for IT deployments (30-150 seats)
• Conduct product demonstrations to showcase ARO’s IT solutions, such as Microsoft rollouts or WAN/LAN configurations.
• Partner with account managers and technical teams to ensure seamless solution integration and exceptional client experiences.
• Provide clear solution documentation into the project team to ensure a high probability of a successful project implementation.
• Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging IT technologies to position ARO as a market leader.
• Contribute to the full sales cycle—from lead generation to deal closure—while training account managers and championing IT solutions internally.
• Travel as needed for client meetings, site visits, and industry events to build relationships and close opportunities.
Requirements:
What we are looking for?
Essential:
• Proven experience in IT sales within an MSP environment
• Current and significant expertise with solutions like managed services, server deployments, LAN / WAN, Microsoft, hardware deployments, cloud migration, or cybersecurity.
• Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, value-driven messages for non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated success in meeting sales targets and driving revenue growth for medium-sized businesses.
• Comfortable in a dynamic technical sales environment that comprises a high volume of lower value opportunities / projects.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, hybrid environment.
• Relevant IT qualification or degree (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology).
• Willingness to travel for client-facing activities.
Desirable:
• Expertise in WAN/LAN, cloud migration, server deployment, Microsoft rollout/license management, and cybersecurity.
• Experience with CRM tools (esp Dynamics) and sales tracking platforms.
• Industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365, AWS Cloud Practitioner, CompTIA Security+).
• Familiarity with managed IT services or Mobile Device Management (MDM).
