Position Summary:
The IT Systems Administrator is a hands-on role responsible for managing Chinburg’s IT infrastructure, including ensuring the stability, security, and performance of on‑premises and cloud systems. This role manages day‑to‑day administration, provides technical support, and acts as the primary liaison between internal teams and the third‑party IT service provider. This individual ensures that outsourced services meet expectations while maintaining internal control over critical systems, documentation, and strategic technology decisions.
Due to the collaborative nature of this position, the role requires on‑site work five days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
IT Support and Operations
Provide first line IT support as the primary contact for all employees, whether onsite or remote.
Address and monitor requests in a timely manner utilizing the ticketing system provided by our IT services provider.
Research solutions, evaluate software options, and coordinate with vendors to meet the needs of the team.
Assist HR with onboarding, offboarding, and access provisioning.
Systems Administration and Infrastructure Management
Track and document IT issues, resolutions, and recurring trends to guide operational decisions.
Manage procurement, repairs, lifecycle replacement, and inventory of all hardware, software, and IT assets.
Evaluate equipment performance, plan for future capacity needs, and recommend new platforms that improve efficiency.
Administer Microsoft 365 and other cloud environments.
Manage Entra, identity and access controls, group policies, and MFA configurations.
Oversee patching, updates, and lifecycle management for servers, endpoints, and applications.
Monitor system performance, capacity, reliability, and uptime using enterprise monitoring tools.
Security and Compliance
Enforce security policies, access controls, and least‑privilege standards.
Coordinate with our IT services provider on vulnerabilities and security incidents.
Support compliance efforts or industry requirements).
Monitor backups, retention, and disaster recovery testing.
Maintain the cybersecurity plan and escalate threats such as hacking attempts or compromised accounts.
Vendor and Third‑Party Coordination
Serve as the primary liaison with our external IT services provider.
Escalate complex issues to the external IT services provider, informing the EVP of HR, People & Culture as needed.
Track SLAs, validate resolution quality, and ensure timely ticket closure.
Participate in business reviews, project planning, and contract discussions.
Automation and Process Improvement
Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and user guidelines.
Deliver training to ensure proper adoption of the above across the organization.
Recommend improvements to infrastructure, security strength, and operational processes.
Evaluate new tools and technologies and support implementation.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Technical Skills and Knowledge
Proficiency with Windows, including server administration and endpoint management.
Experience with Microsoft 365 ecosystem, especially SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Azure AD/Entra ID.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Familiarity with construction and property‑management platforms such as Procore, RedTeam, and Buildium desired.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in system administration, IT support, or similar roles.
Experience administering IT environments (Windows Server, Linux, virtualization).
Certifications in CompTIA Network+, Security+, Server+, Current Microsoft, ITIL Foundation, or other virtualization certifications a plus.
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls).
Familiarity with cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, or similar).
Experience with ticketing systems.
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Experience with vendor management.
Experience with automation tools, endpoint management (Intune, RMM platforms), or SIEM solutions.
Background in environments with compliance or regulatory requirements.
