Purpose of Role/Summary:
The Junior IT Support Officer provides first-line technical support to employees, assisting with day-to-day IT issues related to hardware, software, networks, and systems. The role focuses on troubleshooting, user support, and maintaining smooth IT operations while ensuring timely and effective resolution of technical requests. This position is ideal for someone eager to develop hands-on IT skills, gain practical experience, and grow their career within a supportive and fast-paced environment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide first-line technical support to employees by troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems, applications, and IT equipment
Respond to and resolve help desk tickets, ensuring timely and efficient issue resolution
Set up and configure new hardware (computers, printers, monitors, etc.) and software for end users
Perform system backups and assist in ensuring data security and disaster recovery processes
Assist with the management of user accounts, permissions, and access controls
Provide support and administration of Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and user license management
Document troubleshooting processes, solutions, and system configurations for future reference
Collaborate with senior IT staff to support ongoing IT projects and initiatives
Ensure all IT systems are regularly updated with patches and security updates
Help with maintaining an inventory of IT equipment and software licenses
Provide support for other IT-related tasks and projects as needed
Main Activities and Responsibilities:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
Previous experience in IT support, help desk, or customer service is an advantage but not required
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office 365 administration and troubleshooting
Basic understanding of computer hardware and operating systems (Windows and macOS)
Familiarity with networking fundamentals (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for hardware and software issues
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users
Strong time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced setting
Familiarity with IT support tools, ticketing systems, and remote support tools is an advantage
Microsoft Office 365 certification (Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals or higher) is required
High attention to detail and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
Strong willingness to learn new technologies and grow within the IT support field
