IT Risk Engineer

That’s where you come in. We’re looking for a IT Risk Engineer who takes ownership of keeping our IT systems safe and resilient. You’ll be the one spotting risks before they turn into issues, challenging engineering on testing and monitoring, and making sure every control does exactly what it’s meant to do.

As an IT Risk Engineer, you’ll show bunq’s excellence both inside and out by making sure our IT controls are effective, simple, and future-proof. Here’s how you’ll do it:

• Lead IT risk assessments across systems, products, and change initiatives — define treatment plans and drive remediation to completion.

• Stay ahead of risks in cloud environments (AWS in particular), covering IAM, data protection, and configuration management.

• Challenge the design of our web and mobile apps to ensure resilience by design.

• Build operational resilience by leading business continuity, disaster recovery, and backup strategies — and validating them through regular testing.

• Map dependencies across systems and processes to uncover vulnerabilities and single points of failure.

• Embed risk controls into engineering workflows, automating checks where possible.

• Feed insights from incidents and tests back into stronger controls and engineering practices.
