The Directorate-General is strengthening its Enterprise Architecture governance to ensure coherence, interoperability and alignment of digital initiatives with the European Commission’s IT strategy and architecture standards.
Role Overview
The role focused on end-to-end project management of architecture-related initiatives, ensuring coordination, planning, and delivery across teams.
Rather than contributing to architecture design, the position ensured that architectural topics were well-governed, aligned, and executed efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
• Led and managed architecture-related projects and governance initiatives from planning to delivery
• Defined scope, timelines, priorities, and deliverables for architecture streams
• Established and managed an Architecture Board (agenda, planning, decision tracking, follow-up)
• Coordinated stakeholders across multiple teams, ensuring alignment and progress
• Monitored project milestones, risks, dependencies, and budget (if applicable)
• Ensured clear reporting and communication towards leadership and key stakeholders
• Drove standardization of processes, tools, and ways of working across architectural teams
• Identified bottlenecks and ensured timely escalation and resolution
