Job Title: IT & Operations Support Summer Intern

Job Summary
The IT & Operations Support Intern will provide essential first-level technical support while assisting the Finance & Administration team with daily business tasks. This role is a 70/30 split: 70% of your time will be spent on IT troubleshooting and hardware management, and 30% will involve supporting business operations and administrative data tasks. This position is ideal for a candidate who wants to understand how IT functions within the context of a fast-paced small business.

Key Responsibilities
IT Support & Remote Management (70%)
First Response: Serve as the primary point of contact for the IT ticketing system, resolving daily hardware and software issues.
Remote Support: Use remote desktop tools to troubleshoot and support our distributed workforce across various locations.
Deployment: Configure and ship "ready-to-work" hardware kits (laptops, monitors, peripherals) for new hires.
System Maintenance: Assist in installing software updates, managing user accounts, and maintaining AV equipment in onsite meeting rooms.
Documentation: Create and update "How-To" guides for end-users to reduce recurring support tickets.
Systems Data & Administration (30%)
ERP Migration Support: Assist the Finance & Admin team with data entry and data validation as we transition to a new ERP system.
Data Integrity: Perform routine data entry and audits within financial and administrative systems to ensure accuracy.
Administrative Entry: Support the Finance & Admin team with routine data entry into spreadsheets and business databases.
File Management: Assist in maintaining and organizing digital records and departmental documentation.
Required Qualifications
Education: Currently enrolled in (or recently graduated from) a degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Technical Aptitude: Strong familiarity with Windows/Mac OS and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail).
Communication: Ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical users clearly and patiently.
Reliability: Strong attention to detail, especially regarding data entry and hardware inventory.
Attention to Detail: Extremely high accuracy when entering financial data or configuring hardware.
Physical Ability: Able to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks such as cabling and workstation setup.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Remote Desktop software (e.g., TeamViewer, AnyDesk, or Windows Remote Desktop).
Familiarity with IT Ticketing systems or help desk workflows.
Basic understanding of networking (Wi-Fi troubleshooting, VPNs, and TCP/IP).
An interest in how ERP systems or business databases operate.

Compensation: Wage based on level of experience, Starting wage $19-22 per hour
Working Hours: Monday - Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Friday - 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
40 Hours per Week. Flexible working hours may be available.
Work Environment: This position primarily operates in a professional office environment using standard office equipment and also in a manufacturing environment that requires the employee to follow safety protocols and best practices.
