You’ll join the SMG Central organization and take responsibility for the technical implementation and

operational excellence of central IT services and applications. You’ll work closely with Business and Central

Units, act as a technical sparring partner, and make sure new tools don’t just get introduced, but actually run

reliably in production.

On top of that, you will act as the Product Owner for Google Workspace Enterprise, owning the platform from

strategy and governance down to operational improvements and problem management.

What will you do?

Product Owner – Google Workspace Enterprise

• Own the Google Workspace platform end-to-end.
• Define configuration standards, governance, and security policies.
• Manage roadmap and backlog (features, improvements, standardization).
• Coordinate with Service Desk and Workspace team for structured problem management.
• Drive automation, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure alignment with identity, security, and compliance requirements.
• Take over L3 Cases conserning Goolge Workspace Enterprise

Own & Run Central Platforms

• Take full ownership of selected central applications and services.
• Ensure availability, performance, monitoring, and operational stability.
• Define and maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational standards.
• Improve reliability and reduce recurring incidents through root cause analysis.

Drive Technical Implementations

• Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Lead technical rollouts of central tools and applications.
• Ensure operational readiness before go-live (monitoring, support model, access model, documentation).
• Coordinate handovers into stable operations.

Incident & Problem Management

• Act as an escalation point for complex operational issues.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable fixes.
• Identify systemic weaknesses and proactively improve them.
• Work closely with Service Desk (L1/L2) and external partners where needed.

Evaluate & Integrate New Solutions

• Run technical evaluations and PoCs.
• Assess operational impact, scalability, and security implications.
• Ensure new tools fit into the existing architecture and support model.

Improve & Automate

• Identify inefficiencies and automate recurring tasks.
• Improve monitoring, alerting, and observability.
• Reduce manual work through scripting and process optimization.

What should you bring?

Education & Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a comparable field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT Operations, Systems Engineering.
• Strong understanding of IT service operations (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
• Experience running business-critical services in production environments.
• Networking fundamentals (LAN, WAN, WiFi, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
• Firewall concepts and network security principles
• Identity & Access Management (SSO, MFA, directory services)
• Cloud-based SaaS environments
• Hands-on experience with Google Workspace (Enterprise) administration is a strong plus.
• Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python or similar).
• Understanding of monitoring, logging, and observability concepts.
