The IT & Facility Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining and supporting the technical infrastructure of our Quebec City VFX studio. With dual expertise in audiovisual systems and general IT support, the incumbent acts as the primary on-site point of contact for troubleshooting, configuring projection and audiovisual systems, and providing support, deployment, and maintenance for workstations and technical spaces within the studio.

The IT Support and Installations Specialist provides first-line technical support to all VFX artists and production teams, both in-studio and remotely across all our locations.

Key Accountabilities :

AV and Technical Infrastructure Maintenance

• Install and maintain projectors, screens, monitors, and audiovisual equipment in production and review areas.

• Participate in the deployment and configuration of workstations (Linux, macOS, Windows).

• Monitor technical equipment and proactively identify hardware or software issues.

• Maintain clean, functional technical rooms that meet studio standards.

• Calibrate reference monitors and manage the audiovisual routing infrastructure and cabling.

IT Support and System Administration

• Provide level 1-2 technical support (workstations, network, peripherals, access to internal tools, and software licenses).

• Quickly diagnose and resolve incidents to minimize impact on VFX production.

• Document tickets in the ITSM tool, document specific solutions, monitor SLAs, and escalate when required.

• Perform imaging, software installation and updates, and basic workstation diagnostics.

• Assist in resolving basic network issues (connectivity, patch panels, switches, cabling).

• Collaborate with IT and Engineering teams on incidents requiring more advanced infrastructure support.

• Document procedures, configurations, and equipment specifications.

Operational Readiness and Collaboration

• Collaborate closely with VFX teams to ensure fast and reliable technical support.

• Ensure that rooms and systems are fully operational at the start of each production day.

• Prioritize tasks based on production needs and operational deadlines.

Facility and Studio Infrastructure Support

• Perform basic infrastructure tasks, including monitor setup, cabling management, and rack equipment installation.

• Support the movement, installation, and deployment of equipment throughout the studio.

• Identify, report, and contribute to the resolution of facility-related issues that may affect operations (electricity, lighting, air conditioning, security, and space functionality).

• Maintain clean, organized, and operationally and safely maintained technical rooms, server rooms, and production spaces.

• Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in a technical role in broadcasting or a VFX environment.

• Fluency in spoken and written in French and English*

• Experience with the installation and maintenance of audiovisual equipment (projectors, monitors, cabling infrastructure).

• Good knowledge of Linux, macOS, and Windows environments in a production context.

• Basic knowledge of system administration (networking, workstation imaging, software deployment).

• Excellent diagnostic, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.

• Ability to work independently on-site in a demanding production environment.
