About the role
We are looking for a Desktop Support Specialist who will provide front line user support (level 1 and 2) and complete system administration tasks for the Russell McVeagh technology systems. Join our IT Operations team as they work closely with the wider IT team to ensure that all users have functional and correctly configured equipment and appropriate access to network services. We are searching for a motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills who can provide a responsive and skilled service to our firm.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a current Desktop Support / Helpdesk Analyst wanting to step up their IT career! We provide excellent training and support. This role is unique as you will be responsible for using your technical expertise to provide outstanding first level support while having exposure to tasks carried out by our System Administrator and Infrastructure teams.
Please note – this role works on a rotating shift pattern to cover the hours of 7am – 7pm. You will also be required to be on call for one weekend per month, during which an on-call allowance will be paid on top of your remuneration.
Key accountabilities:
Front line user support for partners and staff in Wellington, Auckland and the South Island, as well as external parties, using Russell McVeagh systems, delivered in person, over the phone and via email
Managing tickets to completion, ensuring strong communication with users and SLAs are met
Escalations to Systems Administrators and IT Operations Manager
Complete system administration tasks assigned to the team, ensuring tasks are completed promptly and accurately
Hardware and software deployment and management
Ensure a high level of documentation is maintained covering procedures for all activities
Contribute to the planning and implementation of IT projects as requested from time to time
About you
We're looking for someone who's motivated, personable and who is willing to learn! You will also have the following:
3+ years' experience working in a Service Desk or Desktop Support role
Strong personal commitment to excellence and providing an outstanding user experience
Superior communication skills and ability to communicate with people at all levels
Strong client service focus
Proactive approach and a ‘can do’ attitude, driven to go the extra mile
Keen to learn and share knowledge freely with the team
Ability to follow procedures accurately
Team player that assists team members in achieving overall objectives
