Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Irrigation Technician to add to our growing Irrigation Division!
As an Irrigation Technician, you will be handling the installation, spring start-ups, troubleshooting, repairing, and winterizing of irrigation systems. This position will require minimal supervision and conduct all jobs in a safe manner while directing a crew of one to two employees. In the off-season, we have snow and cleanup work available to make this a year-round, full-time position.
Skill Set & Educational Requirements:
Minimum of a High School diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license and must be insurable on the company's insurance policy with a clean criminal record
Minimum of two years of experience in irrigation installation and/or maintenance
Able to interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner on a daily basis
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Physical ability to perform the necessary functions of the job including working outdoors in all types of weather conditions as needed
Frequently required to stand and walk, lift and/or move up to 50 to over 100 lbs. with assistance, pull piping, load and unload materials onto a truck, and dig and work in a kneeling position for extended periods of time
Able to train others and recommend irrigation services to other crews
Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus
Irrigation Technician and/or Journeyman certification is a plus
Duties/Responsibilities:
Able to operate company equipment: trenchers, pullers, trucks, tampers, etc.
Able to perform all daily preventative maintenance on company equipment
Able to read irrigation plans and drawings
Able to lay out a job site and order materials
Able to operate irrigation locator systems for controllers, valves, heads, rotors, etc.
Meets or exceeds company production standards for irrigation installation
Ensures that jobs are kept on schedule and on budget
Ensures that all safety procedures are followed and report any unsafe conditions to supervisors immediately
Interfaces with subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate completion of their phase of projects
Interfaces with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of job materials
Able to fill out and process all necessary job paperwork, purchase orders, and time sheets required
Perform other duties as assigned
