We are seeking a candidate with 3-5 years of solid patent prosecution and opinion-related experience to join a top law firm in Boston. The ideal candidate will have an educational background in engineering, physics or chemistry; advanced degree and/or industry experience preferred. Candidates must be registered to practice before the USPTO. Specific job functions and responsibilities will include: preparing and filing U.S., international and foreign patent applications; prosecution of such applications before USPTO and WIPO; corresponding with, and instructing, foreign associates; conducting patentability searches and drafting opinions; conducting freedom-to-operate searches and drafting opinions; drafting infringement and invalidity opinions; assisting in contested proceedings before the USPTO and foreign authorities; interacting with, and preparing reports for, clients as needed. This is a unique opportunity to join a close knit team, and to quickly gain high level intellectual property skills. The position offers hands-on experience and immediate responsibility.
