Our team members work vigorously to meet our customer’s needs. No two days are the same! Crofton is seeking an Inventory Assistant to join our team.
The Inventory Assistant is directly responsible for all material runs, assisting in asset management, inventory control, receipt processing, quality control, material movement and customer service.
General Responsibilities:
Designated runner (driver) ensuring prompt pick-up and delivery of material in accordance with internal requisitions.
Receives and records incoming shipments by verifying material descriptions, quantities and quality are accurate in relation to purchase orders.
Coordinate with forklift operators to verify and accept large deliveries in accordance with purchase orders.
Process all delivery receipts and close out all purchase orders that were requisitioned by the inventory department.
Periodic inventory counts to ensure quantities match the inventory software.
Maintains customer and vendor relationships in accordance with company policies.
Monitor material on shop floor for mobilization and demobilization.
Maintains a clean environment of all inventory locations and shop floor.
Coordinates with equipment department for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
Identify staging locations on shop for short and long-term storage of material.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must have and maintain a clean driving record.
Must be proficient and skilled with backing up a trailer.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma (or 1-2 years of employment history)
Experience in Marine Construction is preferred but not necessary.
Physical / Environmental Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting/driving.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like.
Exposure to construction and marine site dangers.
Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
Ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
Ability to respond quickly to sounds and handle noisy environments
Able to traverse all areas of the jobsite in all types of weather; this may require walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
