The Louis Dreyfus Company Internship Program 2026 is a six-month program that provides students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in commodity trading industry. The program is designed to equip interns with foundational knowledge and professional skills in one of the company’s business platforms.

As a Data Science Intern, you will be introduced to and become an integral part of our research team. You will work with experienced professionals in research team and interact with colleagues to gain insight into the commodity industry. You will be given the opportunity to collaborate with various stakeholders to develop your own sense of the working environment in the business platform.

Main Responsibilities:

• Modeling & AI Innovation:• Improve existing production models and investigate new approaches to strengthen the reliability and resilience of these models.
• Analyze tanker datasets to support supply & demand modeling and trading strategy development.
• Implement AI-driven frameworks, including agent-based methodologies, for predictive analytics and global product flow analysis.

 

• Data Integration & Quality:• Extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources (APIs, databases, spreadsheets).
• Clean and preprocess data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and resolve quality issues.

 

• Technical Development:• Develop, refactor, and maintain ETL pipelines to ensure robust data flow and integration.
• Create scalable and reliable Python software solutions, emphasizing automation and workflow scheduling for improved efficiency.
• Uphold high quality standards through CI/CD practices, automated testing, and peer reviews.

• Collaboration & Communication:• Work closely with cross-functional teams (data scientists, trading teams, developers, product managers) to understand business requirements and deliver integrated solutions.
• Document methodologies and present findings clearly to stakeholders, facilitating knowledge transfer and informed decision-making.

• Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.

• Technical Skills:• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, data modeling, data analytics, visualization, automation, and dashboard development.
• Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
• Familiarity with AI agentic frameworks or willingness to learn.
• Understanding of Machine Learning techniques and Time Series analysis.
• Knowledge of data-related best practices and Microsoft Excel.
• Interest in ETL processes, data modelling, warehousing.
• Good to have: Experience with PowerBI and/or Dash.

 

• Analytical Mindset:• Ability to analyze complex data sets and derive meaningful insights.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail.

 

• Communication Skills:• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

 

• Other Skills & Knowledge:• Willingness to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Interest and knowledge in Data Science, Research within agricultural commodity sector is a plus.

• Between January 2026 to June 2026
