Job Description
Internship Opportunity
We're Sentinel, an ambitious and fast-growing SAAS with an ever-expanding set of functionalities. We're building something big, and we want sharp, curious people to help shape it.
Are you looking to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment with real ownership, unlimited growth, and exciting learning opportunities? Do you want to leave your mark on a product used by real people and see your ideas shipped? Are you a student or recent graduate eager to dive deep into product thinking, data, and design?
Do you think you have what it takes to succeed as our Product Owner Intern – Data & Reporting? If so, keep reading!
Role and Accountability
As our AI Product Owner Intern, you'll sit at the intersection of product, research, and emerging AI tooling. Sentinel is an enterprise-grade, prototypable platform, and the AI landscape underneath it is moving faster than any single team can track. Your job is to help us see clearly: research what's new, figure out what matters, and translate it into things we can actually use.
You'll take ownership of mini research projects across the latest in AI (e.g., Skills, Connectors, MCPs, Agents, etc.) and come back with clear, opinionated walkthroughs of what each is, how it relates to Sentinel, and what we should do about it. Alongside the research, you'll contribute to our reporting and data visualization work, help us address bugs across the platform, and explore new features as we build.
Sentinel runs under a strict plan-review-before-execution protocol across our development stack (Lovable, Cursor, Claude Code, and the Supabase / React / TypeScript stack underneath), and you'll learn that methodology from the inside. You won't be shipping code to production directly at first, what you will do is help shape what gets built and why, which is honestly the more interesting part.
Being curious, proactive, and user-obsessed is at the core of our DNA. In the same way we're committed to building a great product for our clients, we're committed to providing an outstanding internship experience, one where you'll have real responsibility, real impact, and direct access to leadership.
This position is right for you if you're ready to own something meaningful from day one, contribute beyond your role, and grow fast in a team that genuinely cares about building great things.
Specifically, you would be responsible for:
Owning small research projects on emerging AI capabilities (Skills, Connectors, MCPs, Agents, and whatever lands next) and presenting your findings as verbal walkthroughs, with follow-ups as we dig in;
Translating that research into concrete recommendations: what is this, how does it relate to Sentinel, and what should we do about it;
Contributing to reporting and data visualization work, helping define what dashboards should look like, how they should feel, and iterating on them with the team;
Helping us address bugs across the platform, from reproduction and investigation through to proposing fixes within our plan-review-before-execution protocol;
Exploring and prototyping new features using modern AI-powered development tools (Lovable, Cursor, Claude Code), always with a data-first mindset;
Learning and operating within our development methodology: investigate first, plan before prompting, surgical edits only, move fast, and bring that rigor to everything you touch.
Is This Job for You?
We hope so! It could be the right fit if you:
Are a student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, typically in your 1st to 3rd year;
Are comfortable using AI-powered tools like Lovable, Cursor, or Claude Code, or are excited to learn them;
Have an eye for design and a genuine passion for building great products;
Are genuinely fascinated by what's happening in AI right now and want to spend real time figuring out where it's going;
Can take an unfamiliar topic, go research it, and come back able to explain it clearly to people who haven't done the reading;
Know how to code (a plus, but not required), your product instinct, curiosity, and ability to learn matter more;
Have strong written and verbal communication, when you present, people leave knowing more than when they walked in;
Have strong initiative: you don't wait for someone to tell you what needs to be done. "This isn't my responsibility" is not in your vocabulary;
Are comfortable operating inside a structured process, we plan, review, then execute, and we don't skip steps.
