Required Skills
Job Description
The Analog Competence Center (ACC) is part of the Chief Technology Office and provides analog solutions across NXP. We drive innovation and encourage alignment and collaboration. For an innovation project, we are looking for a BSc student to develop a high-speed optical communication link demonstrator using microLED technology. MicroLEDs are relatively novel devices developed for display applications that have promising properties for communication as well. You will build an optical communication experimental setup based around microLEDs and a variety of off-the-shelve components (like optical detectors).
Your Responsibilities
• Build a microLED based optical communication setup
• Build the supporting hardware/software to control the setup (PC/Matlab, FPGA)
• Implement a variety of modulation schemes, ranging from IM/DD to OFDM
• Run experiments and report results
What’s in it for you
• A great opportunity to develop your skills (technical, soft skills, communication, etc.)
• Gaining experience in a multinational and diverse environment
• Possibility to become part of NXP’s Young Professional Talent Pool
• Working on real assignments which contribute to NXP’s objectives
Your profile
• Bachelor of Science (last year of ‘Hogeschool’) electrical engineering or physics
• Experience with one or more of the following aspects would be preferred:• Affinity with Python and/or Matlab language
• FPGA based design and prototyping
• Experience building experimental setups and their control
• Good level of English is required (attendance to meetings / presentations with international team, reading and writing of documentation)
Duration
This is a full-time internship (40 hours per week) with a duration of 6 months or longer. The assignment could also be suitable as a thesis/graduation project.
Please note that in order to be considered for an internship/working student assignment, you need to be registered as a student during the entire period.
