Internship, Electrical Engineering (Summer 2026)

Pivotal is the leader in the emerging market of electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft. We design, develop, and manufacture light eVTOL aircraft and are renowned for the BlackFly, the first light eVTOL to fly manned missions and enter the consumer market.

Efficient, compact, and simple, Pivotal vehicles are designed for a wide range of consumer, public service, and defense applications. Our distinctive tilt-aircraft architecture and scalable platform have been in development, preparing to enter the market for over 10 years. We are looking for interns in the following areas:

Aerospace - Mechanical
Data Analysis
Electrical
Mechanical - Mechatronics
Software, Full Stack
Software, UX/UI
Supply Chain

Responsibilities:
• You will be given a project to focus on during the summer that will have a tangible impact on the BlackFly aircraft
• You will also be given engineering support activities assigned by your mentor that may include: subsystem testing, data collection, data analysis, documentation, etc.

Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s engineering degree from an accredited program
• Demonstrated project experience in your area of focus
• Interest in eVTOL industry and personal flight
• Ability to learn quickly and multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
• Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and leadership skills
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

Applicants must be eligible for employment in the United States and willing to work onsite at our HQ office in Palo Alto, CA.
