About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated Intern – Manufacturing Transformation Practice to support consulting engagements focused on operational excellence, manufacturing transformation, digitalization, and performance benchmarking across industries such as metals & mining, automotive, chemicals, and process manufacturing.
The intern will assist the consulting team in research, analytics, client deliverables, and business development initiatives, helping identify new opportunities and supporting the development of transformation insights for clients.
Key Responsibilities
1. Industry Research & Insights
Conduct primary and secondary research on manufacturing trends, operational excellence frameworks, Industry 4.0, and sustainability initiatives.
Support the development of thought leadership content, industry insights, and research reports.
Analyze global best practices in manufacturing transformation, digital manufacturing, and supply chain optimization.
2. Data Analysis & Benchmarking
Support analysis of operational and financial performance metrics of manufacturing organizations.
Assist in developing benchmarking models and performance scorecards comparing client performance with industry standards.
Develop Excel-based dashboards and performance indices for growth, cost, and risk assessments.
3. Consulting Project Support
Assist consultants in process mapping, operational assessments, and diagnostic studies.
Support preparation of client presentations, consulting reports, and transformation roadmaps.
Contribute to frameworks related to growth optimization, cost improvement, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation.
4. Business Development Support
Conduct market scanning and opportunity identification across manufacturing sectors.
Support research on potential clients, industry developments, and emerging transformation opportunities.
5. Visualization & Content Development
Develop PowerPoint presentations, dashboards, and visual insights for consulting engagements.
Support creation of structured consulting deliverables and executive summaries.
Required Qualifications
Pursuing or recently completed MBA / B.Tech / M.Tech / Industrial Engineering / Operations Management.
Strong interest in manufacturing, operations consulting, or supply chain transformation.
Required Skills
Strong analytical and research capabilities
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to structure data into insights and visual presentations
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills (Good to Have)
Understanding Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence frameworks
Exposure to Industry 4.0, digital manufacturing, or sustainability initiatives
Familiarity with data analytics tools or Python
