About the Role
The successful candidate will support the University of Edinburgh’s activities across India. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a highly professional individual wishing to develop their knowledge and skills and support this area of student recruitment.
The International Recruitment Officer will liaise regularly with the International Recruitment Manager for South and Central Asia, based in Edinburgh, to implement the delivery of student recruitment and outreach activity, as well as engagement with prospective students.
The successful candidate’s duties will include the provision of:
Key aspects of the role include:
Attending a wide variety of events and communicate with key audiences in the market, primarily students and influencers from the assigned region
Dissemination of information about all undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at the University.
Build and nurture education agents and other partners in the region to ensure consistent and accurate representation of the University.
Acting as a key point of contact for enquirers across the region through various communication channels.
Supporting the University of Edinburgh, where appropriate, to complete operational plans for the region.
Identify market opportunities and deliver market intelligence to support objectives.
Assisting in developing material appropriate to support the University of Edinburgh’s brand and reputation.
Maintain communication channel with prospective students throughout the recruitment cycle to obtain feedback on recruitment process.
Support liaison with the University of Edinburgh’s key sponsors and other relevant partners within the region.
Supporting the organisation of events both in market and in the UK, to develop the University of Edinburgh’s brand and reputation with key stakeholders which may include students, agents and school counsellors.
Take on any other projects and duties that may arise as required by the department.
The position involves frequent, sophisticated interaction with international clients, and significant travel time is required (40%).
The Most Suitable Background
2+ years of experience or equivalent in a role related to education or international education, with an emphasis on recruitment.
Able to write fluent emails and reports in English. Able to engage in subtle and significant conversations with senior stakeholders at the University.
Fluent in English, with strong verbal communication skills and the ability and confidence to present to large audiences of differing stakeholders, from prospective students and their parents to funding bodies.
Knowledge of and extensive experience in the India market.
Knowledge and life experience with the UK education system and institutions.
Experience delivering on recruitment plans.
Highly developed interpersonal skills, including cultural sensitivity and the ability to communicate appropriately with a wide variety of people, ranging from prospective students and their advisers to senior university representatives and government officials.
Able to provide a high-level of customer service in a busy environment with a friendly and approachable manner.
Ability to work independently, and to prioritise and meet tight deadlines; self-motivated, self-disciplined and reliable.
