The Program Officer – China (Marketing & Digital Engagement) will support BIMM University’s student recruitment and brand-building activity in China, with a primary focus on digital marketing, website management, and social media channels, while also contributing to recruitment, enquiry handling, and conversion activity.
Working as part of BIMM University’s in-country team through Grok Global’s Program Office model, the role will play a key part in strengthening BIMM’s online presence in China, generating and nurturing leads, and supporting prospective students through the recruitment journey.

Key Accountabilities
Digital Marketing & Online Presence
Manage and regularly update BIMM University’s Chinese-language website and microsite, ensuring content is accurate, current, and aligned with institutional priorities.
Support the planning, creation, and delivery of content across BIMM’s Chinese social media channels (e.g. WeChat, RED/Xiaohongshu, Douyin, Weibo), in line with agreed content calendars.
Localise content from BIMM University to ensure cultural relevance, accuracy, and effectiveness for the China market.
Monitor digital channels for enquiries and engagement, responding promptly and escalating where appropriate.
Track digital performance and provide insights on engagement, reach, and lead generation.
Adhere at all times to UK GDPR and Chinese Data Protection rules and regulations.
Lead Generation, Recruitment & Conversion Support
Support the generation and management of enquiries arising from digital campaigns, social media, and the Chinese website.
Maintain accurate records of leads, enquiries, and applicants in BIMM’s CRM systems.
Follow up with prospective students to support progression from enquiry to application.
Provide accurate information to students on courses, entry requirements, and next steps, referring complex queries to senior colleagues where required.
Marketing Activity & Events
Support the delivery of recruitment and marketing activity in China, including online and in-person events, school visits, fairs, and conversion activities.
Assist with the organisation of visits from BIMM staff, including logistics, content preparation, and follow-up.
Contribute to post-event evaluation and reporting.
Admissions & Application Support
Assist applicants with the preparation and submission of applications via UCAS or BIMM’s application portal.
Support the collection and checking of required documentation, including certified translations where necessary.
Ensure applicants are aware of, and attend, any required interviews or auditions.
Communicate admissions decisions and next steps clearly and promptly to applicants.
Professional Standards & Collaboration
Work closely with the Programme Manager – China, BIMM University colleagues, and Grok Global staff to ensure coordinated delivery.
Attend BIMM training and updates to maintain a strong understanding of the institution, its programmes, and entry requirements.
Uphold BIMM’s ethical recruitment standards and ensure only suitable and genuine applicants are supported.
Undertake other duties agreed in writing with the Programme Manager or Head of International Recruitment and Partnerships.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
Experience or strong interest in digital marketing, communications, or student recruitment within education.
Professional proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English (spoken and written).
Experience managing websites or social media platforms, ideally for education or youth-focused audiences.
Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Confidence engaging with prospective students and responding to enquiries.
Willingness to learn UK higher education admissions and recruitment processes.
Willingness to travel within China (if required) and occasionally internationally
Desirable Criteria
Ability to communicate in additional languages (e.g. Cantonese, Korean, Japanese, or other regional languages).
Experience working with Chinese social media platforms (WeChat, RED/Xiaohongshu, Douyin, Weibo)
Experience supporting student recruitment, admissions, or conversion activity.
Experience of the film, performance, games tech or music industries within China or the neighbouring region.
Ability to communicate in additional languages (e.g. Cantonese, Korean, Japanese).
Familiarity with UK higher education or creative arts education.
Experience working within an Employer of Record or in-country representative model.
