**INTERNAL INTEREST POSTING**  

REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE – EMERGENCY/MEDICINE HYBRID 

(TEMPORARY FULL TIME) 

One (1) temporary full-time Registered Practical Nurse opportunity is available in the Emergency/Medicine Departments at Groves Memorial Community Hospital. This position is created by combining one (1) existing Regular Part-Time RPN position from the Medicine Department and one (1) existing Regular Part-Time RPN position from the Emergency Department, with the home unit designated as the Emergency Department. 

This position is unionized with UNIFOR, Local 1106. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) 

Current BCLS Certification 

Demonstrated assessment skills, enrolled in or completed Physical Assessment Course 

ACLS 

One (1) year Emergency or Telemetry experience required (Preference will be given to candidates with current Emergency nursing experience). 

Two (2) years Med/Surg experience required 

Competent in IV therapy including initiation and knowledge of IV therapy. 

Updated IV course and IV medication administration – mandatory within 3 months of hire 

Demonstrated physical assessment skills 

Demonstrated ability to function effectively in emergency situations. 

Demonstrated clinical assessment and patient/family teaching skills. 

Demonstrated ability to function effectively and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. 

Proven attendance record 

Demonstrated lifelong learner 

Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date 

Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check 

Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment prior to being hired 

HOURS:

Must be available for both shifts (days and nights) and weekends, as per department schedule 

SALARY:

$37.69 to $39.17 per hour
