Position Summary
The Estimator position involves logging incoming request for pricing, developing quotes, and supporting the TécFAB Fabrication Programs in response to customer requests. The Estimator must be a self-starter and have the ability to perform in a dynamic working environment while working with the rest of Estimating Team. Must have general knowledge of manufacturing process for both Sheetmetal / Structural items. Must be comfortable seeking material quotes from vendors to support building quotes for fabricated parts
The Estimator position requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic computer skills. Ability to easily navigate NAVSEA and Engineered drawings is preferred. Salary to be determined based on evaluation of current skill sets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Submit RFQs to vendors for all material & calculate pricing for all items in assigned quotes
Submit RFQs to subcontractors for services as needed to support assigned quotes
Source costs and material availability with vendors
Ability to follow directions and work independently to meet customer deadlines
Use Excel skill set to put together information in required templates
Communicate with vendors and customers in both verbal and written form
Interface with various members of Técnico Corporation to execute estimating related tasks
Follow TécFAB written processes while accomplishing task, strong adherence to detail

Education and Experience:
Associates degree or equivalent education/experience in estimating/material planning
Shipboard trade experience with sheetmetal / structural drawings and installations
Experience working on a computer to support daily tasks completed in a timely manner
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Must be able to work with various team members to assist with estimate development.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must possess excellent communication skills to coordinate with project managers, engineering staff and material vendors
Must be able to use a computer to store and retrieve information
Must be able to work with various team members to assist with estimate development.
Must be able to read, write and comprehend instructions in an effective way.
Must be able to calculate and understand units of measure, including fractions and decimals.
Must know how to measure using tape measure
Must be able to wear applicable PPE (steel toe shoes, ear protection, face shields, safety glasses and face coverings as required)
Must be able to pass Drug Screening, Work Ability Screening
Physical and Environmental Demands
Office positions in a production environment may be exposed to noise levels, dust and/or grime. Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment when required. Office environment with computers, printers, typing and normal conversation.

N = Never R = Rarely (Less than 1 hour per week)
O = Occasional (1% - 33% of time [1 – 13 hours per week]) F = Frequent (34% - 66% [14 – 26 hours per week)
