We are currently looking for an Internal Control & Compliance Officer who supports internal stakeholders in matters related to compliance with GDPR, the company’s Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct, with the company’s Policies and procedures, and, more generally, with laws and regulations. The role is also responsible for KYC screening.
What will you do:
• Assists in executing Data Protection activities (Audits, trainings, new DPIAs) and ad hoc GDPR responsibilities (Reporting to Authorities, drafting replies to GDPR requests)
• Participates in the Follow-up on any open Finding or Improvement Actions (Compliance Reviews, ISO Audits External and Internal, GDPR Audits) and communicates the results to the Internal Control Section Manager
• Assists the Data Protection Officer (DPO) in reviewing contracts and preparing replies to requests by individuals and by the Authorities, regarding GDPR issues
• Participates in controlling, assessing, reviewing and carrying out changes in the GDPR - related Procedures implementation for the company to comply with the GDPR
• Responsible for screening the company’s counterparties for KYC purposes to identify potential threats such as money laundering, terrorism financing, fraud, or corruption, to protect the company’s reputation. consolidating and evaluating the results, and to notifying stakeholders accordingly
• Assists the Internal Control Section Manager with responsibilities related to the Code of Ethics monitoring and Code of Ethics documentation (“Code of Ethics”, “Code of Conduct”, and “Procedure for Reporting and Handling of Alleged Violations”)
• Participates in the compilation of the Annual Compliance Review, in order to allow the smooth completion of the respective reviews and to effectively fulfil the prioritized compliance review requirements
• Assists with the preparation of the draft Compliance Review report and the update of the internal compliance documentation with the new controls
• Controls, reviews and proposes changes to the Enerwave Management Framework (EMF) related to compliance issues and informs the Internal Control Section Manager so that the company maintains an up to date EMF, including policies, business activities, procedures and other related documentation
• Monitors the relative KPIs and informs the Internal Control Section Manager accordingly in order to assess the compliance with policies, activities and procedures
• Assists with the monitoring and update of Controls, by participating in interviews with control owners & documenting changes in internal controls, including the update of Controls Matrix
• Within the Internal Control Framework, participates in the formulation and update of the Control Activities (COSO 3rd Pillar) of the company, to the extent the Internal Control Section is responsible, as well as, with the monitoring activities (COSO 5th Pillar) of the company
• Assists the Internal Control Section Manager to conduct and to monitor the Internal Control System Effectiveness Assessment
What you need to be successful:
• BSc in Engineering or Science or Business or Finance or Legal or Compliance or Energy Field
• MSc in Legal or Compliance is also an asset
• At least 2 years of experience in a Compliance officer role or related position
• At least 1 year of involvement of GDPR activities, good understanding of internal controls methodology and practices / good business knowledge and working experience in the areas of process improvements
• Possible experience in energy industry environment will be assessed positively
• Experience in managing ISO Standards implementation would be considered as a plus
• Preferably, a good overall understanding of the energy industry and regulatory framework
• COSO Internal Control Framework Certificate is preferable
• Some knowledge of legal requirements and procedures are preferable
• Compliance Certificate is preferable
• Good Project management and process compliance understanding
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English
• Strong knowledge in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Knowledge of Power BI, MS Project, SAP would be preferable
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
