About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Internal Audit Specialist to play a pivotal role in strengthening our internal control environment as we prepare for a US IPO. You will lead the design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of robust internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), ensure SOX Section 404 readiness, mitigate key business risks, and drive process excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and ongoing optimization of the company’s internal control framework in alignment with COSO principles and SOX Section 404 requirements, including risk identification, control design (preventive/detective), process walkthroughs, and documentation of Risk & Control Matrices (RCM).
Perform comprehensive business risk assessments across core cycles (e.g., revenue, procurement, financial close, ITGC), identify material weaknesses / significant deficiencies, and design / implement compensating controls to support pre-IPO readiness and future public company status.
Establish, test, and continuously refine risk monitoring systems (Key Risk Indicators / KRIs, dashboards, automated alerts) to enable proactive detection of control gaps and emerging risks.
Track, monitor, and drive remediation of internal control deficiencies and management action plans, ensuring timely closure and evidence-based reporting to senior management and the Audit Committee.
Plan and execute routine internal audits, special investigations, and SOX-mandated control testing (including IT general controls), delivering clear, actionable recommendations that enhance operational efficiency, compliance, and risk management.
Collaborate closely with Finance, IT, Legal, Business Units, and external advisors (e.g., Big 4 auditors) to prepare high-quality documentation, support management’s SOX 404(a) assessment, and facilitate smooth transition to external auditor attestation (404(b)).
Provide strategic advisory support to management on governance, process optimization, and best practices for scaling controls in a pre-IPO / post-IPO environment.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.
Professional certification strongly preferred: CIA, CPA, CISA, or equivalent.
3–5+ years of relevant experience in internal audit, SOX compliance, or internal controls\
Big 4 (PwC, Deloitte, EY, KPMG) advisory/audit experience is preferred
Internal audit / SOX readiness role in financial services, fintech, or high-growth companies preparing for US listing / public company status.
Solid understanding of SOX Section 404, COSO framework, ICFR testing, PCAOB standards, and pre-IPO control readiness processes.
Proficiency in audit / GRC tools (e.g., AuditBoard, Workiva, TeamMate, Archer) and data analytics platforms (ACL, IDEA, Power BI, Tableau, Advanced Excel) for control testing, risk monitoring, and reporting.
Fluency in English (written & spoken) is essential; Mandarin / Cantonese is a plus.
