Summary: Reporting to a senior member of the Portfolio Management Team, the Intern - Portfolio Management will be an integral part of the team’s success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Help with organizing Investment Committee (IC) meetings, including preparing agendas, convening participants, distributing investment memos and supporting documentation, holding the meetings, drafting minutes, and ensuring follow-up on action points
Assist with conducting necessary checks and controls on investment/divestment opportunities before the Investment Committees including assessing the compliance of the proposed investment/divestment opportunities with the Fund’s strategic fit, risk profile and financial criteria
Review of the investment’s economics and features
Liaising with other teams involved to collect the necessary elements and assessments ahead of the Investment Committees (including but not limited to AML/KYC checks on the assets and investment stakeholders in scope)
Identifying potential risks and recommending appropriate mitigation actions or measures
Preparation of deliverables, archiving of documents and maintenance of internal logs and spreadsheets
Assist with the supervision of the execution of approved investment/divestment opportunities decision when trade execution is delegated
Assist with the ongoing monitoring of the investments
Ensuring ongoing monitoring of delegates such as investment advisors and other appointed delegates (as the case may be).
Assist in the ongoing monitoring of the delegated investment managers (sending questionnaires, collecting answers, assessing elements received for adequacy and consistency, investigation of exceptions and attention points noted, follow-up on investigations and open points, preparation of deliverables…)
Conducting periodic data quality checks to ensure the exhaustivity of the monitoring
Following the escalation procedure in place and undertaking the relevant follow-up and actions
Help with conducting ad-hoc investigations or ad-hoc reviews (upon triggering events).
Assist in the monitoring of the performance of the assets managed by the delegated investment managers.
Conduct research on market trends, industry developments, and company-specific updates relevant to the function.
Assist in preparing regulatory reporting (including but not limited to major holdings)
Supporting the team members in ensuring the annual review of policies, procedures and documents owned by the Portfolio Management Team and compliance with new regulatory developments impacting the activities of the function.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
Interest in portfolio management and the asset management field.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferably, having good knowledge of Luxembourg regulatory frameworks applicable to ManCos, AIFMs, and Collective Investment Schemes (CIS), including UCITS and alternative funds
Good understanding of multiple asset classes and investment strategies
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and time management skills, and the ability to perform effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Team-oriented with a positive mindset and a proactive problem-solving approach, demonstrating initiative, creativity, and adaptability when addressing challenges
Fluency in English.
