Crisis Group is offering a valuable learning opportunity for individuals seeking to develop concise writing skills and gain firsthand experience in how a policy organisation shapes its social media communications strategies. As an online communications intern, you will observe, contribute and provide feedback on our processes as part of the communications team. This is a full-time, unpaid position for a 6-month period, running from March 2026 to September 2026.
We offer you learning on the job through the following tasks:
• Assist in drafting content for all our active social media channels (X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and Bluesky);
• Create templated graphics and support the dissemination of visual content for Crisis Group's social media platforms;
• Upload Reports, Briefings, Commentaries and other articles to our website;
• Draft mass mails for all of our publications;
• Support the media team with creating daily press reviews;
• Participate in launch strategy calls with analysts in the field to support the launch of new publications;
• Participate in daily and weekly communications team calls;
• Provide general support to the communications team.
This internship position will suit anyone interested in online communications and acquiring a practical overview of a wide range of countries in conflict, developing concise writing skills and learning how a policy organisation develops its communications strategies.
Our Communications team is based in Brussels, Belgium. Internships are available exclusively to students participating in academic or sponsored programs, e.g. students who can integrate the internship into their academic curriculum for credit or those who have secured external funding, such as a grant or scholarship, to support them during the internship.
