OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Manager, Learning and Development, the Learning and Development Coordinator Intern supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of learning project, initiatives and activities across Circular Materials. Working closely with the Learning and Development and People and Culture teams, the intern contributes to training coordination, graphic design, content development, data organization, and continuous improvement of learning programs, while helping to foster a positive and engaging employee learning experience.
This role provides hands-on exposure to corporate learning operations, systems, and best practices within a fast-paced, national organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with the development, updating, formatting, and organization of learning and development materials, job aids, user guides, and e-learning content.
Support the planning, coordination, and administration of training programs, including scheduling, communications, tracking participation, and maintaining accurate records.
Assist with the development of documentation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to learning processes and the Learning Management System (LMS).
Assist with transitioning learning-related documentation, job descriptions, and learning assets to updated and relevant formats.
Assist with the creation, distribution, and analysis of learning surveys and feedback tools through the LMS.
Contribute to the evaluation and continuous improvement of training programs through feedback collection, data analysis, and reporting.
Support data entry, audits, and reconciliation related to learning records and LMS implementations, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
Support reporting on learning metrics, participation, and completion trends as required.
Assist with drafting and updating learning-related communications, announcements, and learning campaign materials.
Support the creation, visual design, and formatting of PowerPoint presentations and other learning assets, including e-learning modules using the LMS authoring tool.
Plan and coordinate meetings related to learning initiatives by liaising with stakeholders and organizing required materials and resources.
Assist with logistics for employee onboarding, engagement, and learning-related events.
Support People and Culture initiatives related to learning, process improvements, policy updates, and implementation of best practices.
Perform additional learning and administrative tasks to support team and organizational goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience
Previous internship or co-op experience in an HR or administrative role is an advantage.
Knowledge/Competencies/Skills
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Basic knowledge of HR principles and Employment Standards legislation.
Familiarity with adult learning principles and practices
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Familiarity with LMS and HRIS Systems (e.g., Absorb LMS, and BambooHR) is a significant asset.
Preference will be given to candidates with a strong understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) concepts and the ability to communicate and apply AI technologies effectively within a business context.
WORKING CONDITIONS
All CM employees work 40 hours per week, remotely from a home office environment.
High work volume and fast paced ‘start up’ environment.
PAY TRANSPARENCY
Expected Compensation:
A salary of $14,700 for the 4-month term.
The salary listed complies with the Ontario Employment Standards Act and reflects working full-time hours.
