McCarthy Improvement is looking for a Estimator Intern for Summer 2026.
Applicants who are pursuing any level college degree or trade program that focuses on construction management, design, engineering or other construction trade are encouraged to apply. This will be a full time role scheduled 32-40 hours per week with a flexible start date based on school timelines.
What can you expect in this role?
At MCI, we are looking for highly motivated interns to assist our project managers and field supervisors with estimation and project coordination. Interns will be based out of our location in Davenport, Iowa.
Under the supervision of a Project Manager, responsibilities will include:
Estimating cost for change orders
Soliciting bidders and suppliers and coordinating subcontractor activity and vendor purchase orders
Scheduling of various contracts and materials
Prepare quantity takeoffs
Participate in site visits and observations
Quality and document control
Writing RFIs, submittals, and assisting in change orders
Collecting and Reporting Data
Here’s what it takes to get started:
Ability to prioritize work and meet project deadlines
Proficiency using Bluebeam, Microsoft Office products, including Excel are preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
