Position Summary:
The Analytical Development Intern will support analytical development activities for complex biologics, with a focus on virus-like particles (VLPs) and dye-conjugated VLPs. This internship is primarily lab-based and will provide hands-on experience in experimental design, execution, and biophysical characterization techniques used in CMC development.
The intern will work closely with Analytical Development scientists to perform analytical testing, support method development activities, maintain high-quality documentation, and assist with instrument readiness. This role offers exposure to biopharmaceutical development, data generation for drug substance and drug product characterization, and collaboration with external partners (CDMOs/CROs).
This position is ideal for a motivated student seeking practical experience in analytical development within a fast-paced, collaborative biotech environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Support biophysical/bioassay characterization studies by assisting in method execution, sample preparation, and data collection for VLP-based products.
• Perform laboratory experiments following established protocols
• Maintain accurate and compliant documentation in electronic lab notebooks (ELNs) in accordance with good laboratory practices.
• Participate in data review and discussions related to analytical characterization studies.
*DESIRED MAJORS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS + SKILLS:
Currently pursuing a BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.
• Interest in analytical development and characterization of biologics, including virus-like particles (VLPs).
• Basic understanding of analytical method development principles is a plus.
• Familiarity with documentation practices and data integrity concepts.
• Ability to follow detailed protocols, manage multiple tasks, and meet timelines.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of data analysis and basic statistics
