Intern: Agentic AI and Task Planning

Role

Automation processes using robots can range from a few simple steps to complex interactions involving robot motions, perception, tool changing, or force-based actions. In process authoring, the relevant actions must be identified, parameterized, and orchestrated to give robots the ability to fulfill a goal envisioned by a human. In this internship you have the opportunity to facilitate process authoring by combining natural language inputs, agentic AI, and task planning to simplify user interaction and advance the state-of-the-art.

How your work moves the mission forward

• Combine agentic AI and task planning to make creating behavior trees faster and simpler.

• Contribute towards the development of robotics software (including our platform Flowstate).

• Collaborate with a team of experienced professionals in modern software development practices.

• Explore and implement solutions in software development in Python.

• Employ the latest models in Generative AI for process authoring.

Skills you will need to be successful

• PhD student in Computer Science or related field required, ideally with background in task planning.

• Knowledge and proficiency in modern software development in Python.

• Enthusiasm for solving challenging problems in full-stack software, artificial intelligence, and robotics.

• Experience in implementing systems using large language models to solve meaningful tasks.

• Knowledge of task planning required, ideally even combined with motion planning

• Knowledge about building LLM-based agent systems required.
