Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer (25077)

GEMTEC is on the move and looking for entrepreneurs just like us to fuel our expansion in Ontario.  Our presence in Ontario is expanding and we are searching for various roles throughout the GTA, including an Intermediate Engineer within our Geotechnical Division.  We have created a challenging and inviting workplace, where individuals are provided the opportunity to gain experience and advance their careers without limits. You will be joining a dedicated and collaborative team of Engineers and Scientists focused on Geotechnical, Hydrogeological, Environmental, and Materials related projects. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Assist with geotechnical projects including writing proposals, field work, data analysis, and writing geotechnical
reports; 

Assist in the preparation of lab and field reports; 

Assist with client management and consultation as required to manage projects and assist in the development of a client base; 

Assist with mentoring/training junior laboratory and field staff; 

Conduct field inspections; and 

Other duties as required. 

Qualifications and Experience: 

The ideal candidate would be a highly versatile individual
with the following qualifications and experience: 

Have a minimum of a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering (Geological Engineering program may be suitable) from a recognized university.  

Have approximately
5+ years of geotechnical engineering experience. 

Have excellent writing and verbal communication skills (English), strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage and prioritize several assignments at one time in order to deliver quality work on time and on budget.    

Have significant experience in
geotechnical analysis, evaluations, and inspections. 

Have experience with geotechnical software applications such as Slope/W, Seep/W, Sigma/W, Slide, Settle3D, FLAC, or similar. 

Be (or eligible to become) a Registered Professional Engineer
in Ontario. 

Be motivated to provide excellent client service and enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary team environment. 

Position: 

Full time salaried position 

Must have a valid driver’s license 

Salary Range: $66,000 - $110,000 CAD Annually

In alignment with Ontario’s Employment Standards Act and pay‑transparency requirements, GEMTEC includes the expected compensation range in publicly advertised job postings for roles based in Ontario. This range reflects what GEMTEC reasonably anticipates paying for this position. Final compensation will be based on the successful candidate’s education, experience, skills, internal pay equity, specific Ontario location, or other factors unrelated to Ontario‑protected grounds.
