Position
Northleaf is currently recruiting for an Intermediate Analyst to join the Investor Servicing function within Private Equity Operations. This position is for a current vacancy and will be based in Northleaf’s Toronto office, reporting to the Senior Manager, Investor Operations, Private Equity.
The successful candidate will support the Financial reporting review process and the day-to-day fund operations in collaboration with third-party administrators and other internal teams Northleaf’s private equity funds
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:
Review all fund reporting deliverables including financial statements, carried interest models, capital account statements and other custom reports adhering to procedural and quality standards
Assist with the annual and compliance audit of the private equity funds with the independent auditors
Review fund deliverables uploaded to the online investor portal
Assist with review of tax reporting deliverables
Fund Operations and Analysis:
Review calculation of quarterly management fee for the funds
Review investor capital calls and distribution calculations and notices including carried interest payment models
Maintenance of investor information in collaboration with other internal teams including processing investor transfer, name changes, fee rate updates
Working with team members including Investor Relations, Sales, Legal and Tax team, to respond to inquiries and requests
Establish and maintain robust processes while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency
Collaborate with the technology team to support the integration of fund related data across different data platforms
Qualifications
Accounting or Finance or equivalent degree
Experience in the financial services sector (private equity or alternative investments experience is an asset) (2 - 2.5 years’ experience)
Experience in working with external teams and/or third party service providers
Proficient in using excel spreadsheets
Knowledge and interest in private markets and alternative investments
Detail oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to identify root causes and present solutions
A self-starter, with organized and process-oriented mindset; ability to handle multiple tasks with competing deadlines
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced dynamic environment
Process improvement mindset taking initiative to improve the process
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare/present information in a concise and informative manner
Strong work ethic including professional conduct and effective interpersonal and relationship skills to work as a team player
Compensation
The expected compensation range (base salary and incentive compensation) for this position is
$85,000 - $100,000 per year.
