Position Summary
The Avionics Technician is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of aircraft avionics and electrical systems. This position will primarily support maintenance operations on Boeing 737-300 aircraft, while also providing avionics support across other fleet types as needed. While this position is dedicated to avionics systems, the technician may assist with general maintenance activities in support of overall operational efficiency when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Perform troubleshooting, repair, and installation of avionics and electrical systems, primarily on Boeing 737-300, occasionally on Metro SA227, Lear 60 as well as various other aircraft
Conduct operational and functional testing of avionics systems to ensure reliability and compliance
Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and maintenance manuals
Repair or replace defective components and wiring using approved methods
Operate and maintain avionics test equipment and diagnostic tools
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures
Accurately complete maintenance logs and documentation
Provide support with standard A&P maintenance tasks as needed
Support company safety programs including FOD and tool control
Collaborate with A&P mechanics and other maintenance personnel
Work outdoors and in varying weather conditions as required
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
A&P License required
Strong avionics troubleshooting experience required
Boeing aircraft experience is strongly preferred
Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals
Familiarity with FAA maintenance and documentation requirements
Be able to secure and maintain appropriate airport authority badging
Own a basic set of aircraft maintenance tools
Must be able to perform work requiring lifting, pushing or pulling objects in excess of 75 lbs., climb ladders, and maneuver around aircraft
Maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Passport and/or ability to obtain passport within 60 days of hire
Must be at least 18 years of age
