This position will be based in our pediatric offices (Northwest and Central Tucson). Travel between locations may be required.

Position Summary
The Insurance Verification Specialist ensures patient insurance coverage is accurate and up to date before visits and procedures. This role also assists with patient phone calls, billing inquiries, authorizations, and cross-training in AR and revenue cycle support.
Key Responsibilities
Verify insurance coverage for upcoming visits and testing appointments, including obtaining authorizations and referrals.
Maintain knowledge of medical insurance plan changes relevant to billing
Operate a multi-line phone system, answer inquiries, and route calls/messages appropriately
Participate in training, webinars, and seminars for continued professional development
Perform additional duties as assigned by the department manager
Qualifications
Required
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Strong communication, customer service, and computer skills
Availability to work Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Ability to travel occasionally for training or company needs
Preferred
1+ year of medical insurance verification experience
Knowledge of insurance billing guidelines, CPT & ICD-10 coding, and ocular/medical terminology
