Location of positions:  Mototolo Complex
The Instrumentation Engineer is a 2.13.3.1 appointment in terms of the MHSA and is responsible for providing dedicated technical and operational systems support to the process division with a time frame of 2-5 years. The role requires a high degree of competence in instrumentation used in highly automated plants. The role is further responsible to ensure that all systems are maintained and optimised to ensure that the capacity to the production process is maximised.
Responsibilities:
• Identify high risk and safety critical areas
• Implement applicable solution for process problems based on the standard templates
• Disseminate best practice in instrumentation aspects
• Audit high risk and safety critical areas
• Review the process performance reports
• Implement corrective action for areas of instability
• Analyse and identify problems on the current systems and infrastructure
• System trouble shooting and software and hardware problems resolution
• Support on existing instrumentation, networks, hardware and software
• Calibration and maintenance of all equipment within the control solution
• Implementation of modifications to the control solution
• Adherence to the Anglo Platinum Change Procedures and Standards
• Execution and testing of scheduled backups on all control systems
• Schedule and priorities maintenance tasks
• Training and development of end users
• Control maintenance budgets for process control section
• Assist with commissioning on site projects
• Management of the quality assurance plan
This role is at a Band 6 level reporting to the BI/ Reliability Manager.
• Engineering related Degree – BSc Engineering, BEng, BTech and
• Registered (or in the process) as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist with ECSA – Preferred
Experience
• 7 years work experience in instrumentation
• 5 years relevant management experience
• Project management experience 
Knowledge And Skills
• UG Trackless mining and Process experience
• Siemens PCS7 Experience
• Industrial Network Experience         • AS-I / Profibus / Profinet
• Certified experience preferred
• Rockwell PLC Experience (Studio5000 / ControlLogix)
• Familiar with Process Control (Advanced and Regulatory)
