Responsibilities

As an Instructional Designer focused on driving adoption across Workato’s Orchestrate and Agentic products, you will design, develop, and deliver engaging learning experiences that enable customers, partners, and internal teams to master the Workato ONE platform. You will translate complex technical concepts into accessible, actionable content that shortens time-to-value and increases product usage.

In this role, you will also be responsible for:


Curriculum Design: Develop and maintain learning paths, courses, and microlearning modules focused on Workato product adoption (e.g., Agent Studio, Enterprise MCP, API Platform), and contribute to internal curriculum initiatives as needed


Content Development: Create instructional materials (videos, e-learning, documentation, job aids) that effectively explain Workato product concepts, features, and best practices, as well as support internal training initiatives


Product Enablement: Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to ensure training aligns with customer lifecycle, GTM strategies, product capabilities and roadmap


Scenario-Based Learning: Design practical labs and real-world scenarios (e.g., building and managing Genies, MCP servers and data orchestration workflows) to drive practical understanding


Assessment & Certification: Develop assessments, quizzes, and certification programs that validate learner proficiency


Continuous Improvement: Gather learner feedback and analytics to iterate and improve instructional content


Product Thought Leadership: Stay current with AI agentic, automation, and integration trends to ensure Workato’s training is innovative and market-leading

Requirements

Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills


Instructional Design Expertise: 3+ years of experience designing technical training for SaaS, integration, automation or AI products


Technical Acumen: Ability to quickly learn and explain complex concepts (AI agents, MCP, APIs, data orchestration)


Content Creation: Skilled in authoring tools (Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia, etc.) and multimedia production


Collaboration: Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams


Analytical Mindset: Use data and feedback to drive continuous improvement


Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications


Proven technical knowledge of low-code/no-code platforms, automation, or AI-driven products


Experience with Workato or similar enterprise orchestration tools


Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional best practices


Experience creating digital media (e.g., simulations, animated video, graphics, etc.)


Experience using data to inform continuous improvement


Experience developing training in a variety of delivery modalities (virtual, hands-on/experiential, instructor led, remote classroom, synchronous/asynchronous) for a variety of audiences

For California applicants, the base salary range for this role is between $70,000 - $95,000 with additional bonus potential. Candidates outside of the range are also encouraged to apply.
