These automation systems consist of advanced electromechanical, IT, and control components that require skilled professionals to install, commission, and integrate with precision.
As Installation Technician III, you will play a key role in executing and installation activities for baggage handling systems. Your expertise will ensure that equipment is installed safely, accurately, and in compliance with engineering drawings, project specifications, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute installation, assembly, and alignment of mechanical and electrical equipment for baggage handling systems and passenger boarding bridges in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, layout plans, and installation manuals.
• Lead and install BHS on-site to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project timelines.
• Coordinate with Site supervisors, and subcontractors during installation activities.
• Perform cable routing, termination, equipment mounting, conveyor alignment, and structural installation.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures and site-specific safety requirements.
• Conduct pre-commissioning checks and assist during system testing and handover activities.
• Identify installation issues and propose corrective actions proactively.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and installation materials in proper condition.
• Ensure quality workmanship and adherence to project documentation and inspection requirements.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in mechanical and electrical installation, preferably in airport, logistics, or industrial automation environments.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and installation layouts.
• Solid knowledge of installation techniques, equipment alignment, and system integration.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills during installation phases.
• Ability to work independently and lead small teams when required.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer- and project-oriented mindset.
• Proactive, disciplined, and committed to high-quality workmanship.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:
Full-time position: project-based schedules may require extended hours, overtime, weekend, and holiday work depending on project milestones. Flexibility is required.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Installation Technicians work in secure baggage handling areas, construction zones, equipment rooms, or on airfields.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb ladders and scaffolds.
• Regularly required to use hands and arms for installation and alignment tasks.
• Must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
• Work may involve handling heavy mechanical components, structural parts, and electrical equipment.
• Exposure to mechanical systems, moving parts, noise, vibration, and construction-site conditions.
