Installation and Repair Technician - Lenexa, Kansas
Position Overview
The Installation and Repair Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of vending machines, micro market equipment, and unattended retail systems.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring operational uptime, customer satisfaction, and brand presentation across all serviced locations.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, customer-focused, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced field environment.
Key Responsibilities
Install vending machines, micro market fixtures, kiosks, smart coolers, and related equipment at customer locations.
Perform preventative maintenance and routine service on vending and micro market equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and payment system issues.
Configure and troubleshoot cashless payment systems, telemetry devices, and point-of-sale technology.
Assemble, level, and secure micro market shelving, coolers, and cabinetry.
Ensure all installations and repairs meet company quality standards and safety guidelines.
Respond to service calls in a timely and professional manner to minimize equipment downtime.
Communicate clearly with customers regarding service issues, timelines, and resolutions.
Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts usage documentation.
Coordinate with operations, route drivers, and management to support daily business needs.
Safely transport, move, and position equipment using proper tools and techniques.
Maintain company vehicle, tools, and inventory in a clean and organized condition.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of 1 year of experience in vending, micro markets, unattended retail, or a related field preferred.
Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with basic electrical knowledge
Experience working with refrigeration systems is a plus
Familiarity with cashless payment systems, POS technology, or telemetry devices preferred
Ability to lift, move, and install equipment weighing up to 75 pounds
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Work Environment & Schedule
This position is field-based and requires travel to customer locations throughout the region.
Work may involve indoor and outdoor conditions, loading docks, warehouses, and retail environments.
Some flexibility in scheduling may be required based on installation timelines and service demands.
Compensation & Benefits
This position offers an hourly pay range of $20–$25, commensurate with experience and skill level.
