Summary:
This role is a hybrid sales role with some Outside Sales duties and some Inside Sales duties. The Sales Representative will be a key sales team member responsible for providing technical proposals, managing various duties, and growing relationships with clients in a hybrid environment. This role involves a combination of sales skills, customer service, and technical expertise to ensure clients receive the best solutions to their needs. The sales territory for this role will encompass British Columbia to Manitoba. Due to the hybrid nature of this role, applications from British Columbia and Calgary will also be considered.
Principal Accountabilities

Customer Relationship Management:
Act as the 1st point of contact for clients, providing technical support and guidance.
Respond to client inquiries promptly and effectively.
May be asked to go on-site with customers or participate in marketing events on special occasions.
Sales and Business Development:
Identify and qualify new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up, outbound calls, and emails.
Understand customer needs and requirements and propose appropriate solutions.
Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to customers and prospective clients.
Support outside sales in their activities and work conjunctly to support customer needs
Technical Expertise:
Stay up to date on product knowledge and industry trends.
Assist customers in selecting the right products by understanding their technical needs and applications.
Provide detailed information on product specifications, pricing, and lead times.
Quoting and Proposal Generation:
Prepare accurate and timely quotes for customers.
Develop and deliver proposals tailored to customer requirements with support from outside sales.
Support outside sales in the quoting process
Order Processing and Management:
Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Warehouse, purchasing, logistics, and customer service) to ensure timely delivery of products.
Handle any issues or discrepancies related to orders.
Documentation:
Document technical specifications and customer requirements for future reference.
Must be familiar with and be prepared to work consistently with confidential data (potential acquisitions, strategic planning)
Requirements & Skills
Must have a College diploma in Sales, Marketing, or Commerce.
A post-secondary diploma in the Geotechnical, Materials Testing or Science fields are considered an ASSET
A Bachelors degree in Engineering (civil or a related field) and/or Engineering experience would also be considered an ASSET
Must have 2-5 years of sales experience in a B2B field, preferably a technical field in Geotechnical, Material Testing or a related industry.
Must possess skills in:
Sales & Customer service
Technical knowledge, an understanding of industrial processes would be an ASSET
Excellent communication skills in English both written and verbally
Exceptional interpersonal skills with a keen interest in working as part of a team
Able to learn technical product information and apply it in day-to-day work
Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, customer-friendly language
Cold calling experience is considered an ASSET
Working Conditions
Environment: Combination of being office based and working in the field such as meeting clients and attending conferences
Disruption to Lifestyle: Regular overnight travel required up to 30% of the time
Key Working Relationships
Provide regular updates on sales performance, challenges, and opportunities to the Regional Sales Manager.
Build and maintain strong Customer relationships, understanding their unique requirements and providing expert advice on instrumentation solutions.
Collaborate with technical Sales Representatives and Product Specialists to stay updated on the latest product developments, features, and applications.
Coordinate with the Service & Warehouse team to ensure timely delivery, installation, and maintenance of instruments for customers.
Represent Hoskin Scientific Group at Industry Events, Conferences, and Trade Shows to network with potential partners, build brand visibility, and identify new business prospects.
