The Innovation Specialist supports delivery of a major light rail infrastructure programme by embedding practical digital collaboration and visual management into day‑to‑day project execution.
The role focuses on adoption, governance and continuous improvement of the programme’s digital collaboration platform, ThinkHub, ensuring tools, workflows and data integration directly support coordination, decision‑making and performance across live delivery environments.
Principal Responsibilities
Digital Collaboration & Visual Management
• Embed digital boards and visual workflows into routine delivery activities (stand‑ups, coordination meetings, design reviews, planning sessions).
• Drive consistent adoption of collaborative ways of working across projects and teams.
Workflows, Templates & Governance
• Design and maintain programme‑approved workflows, templates and visual management artefacts (e.g. VIS boards, RAID logs, process maps).
• Ensure content is proportionate, intuitive and aligned with programme governance and controls.
Integration with Project Data & Systems
• Coordinate integration with planning, project controls, reporting and digital engineering systems.
• Enable teams to review and update live data during workshops and delivery sessions.
• Reduce duplication and manual reporting.
Workshop Facilitation & Delivery Support
• Facilitate practical workshops, design coordination and problem‑solving sessions focused on live delivery issues.
• Apply visual techniques to improve alignment and decision‑making.
Adoption, Training & Continuous Improvement
• Monitor usage and effectiveness; gather feedback and refine tools and guidance.
• Deliver training, coaching and hands‑on support at scale.
• Champion pragmatic, outcome‑focused innovation.
Skills & Attributes
• Strong facilitation and communication skills.
• Structured, pragmatic, delivery‑focused mindset.
• High digital literacy with the ability to bridge systems and delivery teams.
• Collaborative and improvement‑oriented.
• 5+ years’ experience supporting delivery teams within project or programme environments, with strong exposure to digital ways of working.
• Proven experience designing, managing, or improving structured workflows, templates, and information systems aligned to governance requirements.
• Strong exposure to project data, controls, planning, BIM/digital engineering, or reporting ecosystems, demonstrating high systems literacy (no development background required).
• Demonstrated experience facilitating workshops, reviews, or continuous improvement sessions focused on real delivery challenges.
• Experience owning and improving systems, processes, or capabilities, including training, coaching, and driving user adoption.
Relevant degree or professional qualification in a related discipline.
